‘Strong winds presented more of a challenge at Tewkesbury’s Abbey Fete on Bank Holiday Monday as budding archers flocked to Cheltenham Archers’ Have A Go stall to find their arrows being whipped about. They were, however, undaunted by this and many came back to try again. There was a steady stream of people throughout the day with even the Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Tewkesbury joining in the fun, The Lady Mayoress swapping her handbag for a bow. The club raised a total sum of £254, despite the wind’s continuous battering, and a great day was had by all in attendance.
